A special national holiday is quickly approaching that celebrates the incredible bond between you and your dog! According to National Today, "in 2018, a dog person’s dating app, Dig, launched National Dog Mom’s Day for dog-loving women to thank dog moms, foster dog moms, and future dog moms for all of the love they give to pups." Make sure to allocate some time to celebrate this Dog Mom’s Day and mark your calendar for the second Saturday in May each year. This year it's being celebrated on Saturday, May 14. (Dog Dad's, don't fret. You can celebrate with the mom's or wait until June 19- I hear there's a new dog day for you, too?!)
Being a dog mom (or dad) is the absolute best job, but it's also a lot of work. Dog parents deserve some recognition for taking such incredible care of their fur-babies. Dog Mom's Day is a chance to take advantage of recognizing YOU as an incredible dog parent and all that you do to keep your pup happy, healthy, safe and loved each and everyday!
A Few Cozy Ways to Celebrate...
1. TAKE A WALK (OR A HIKE!) TOGETHER
Your dog will love the fresh air, exercise and time spent with you! Make sure to pick somewhere (a trail or sidewalk nearby) that works for both of you. You might want to pack a few snacks and water for your adventure because let's be real, a snack break is always a good idea!
2. SHARE A HOME BAKED TREAT

Treat yourself to gifts for you and your furry friend at dog-friendly stores! Find neighborhood pet stores near you that allow you to bring your dog (or an outdoor Farmer's Market.)
